On October 22, the influence of the low pressure trough over the South will continue, while storm No. 12 in the East Sea is gradually weakening and moving towards the Central region. The South continues to have scattered thunderstorms, concentrated in the afternoon and evening. During the day, there will be intermittent sunshine, but the high tide will peak combined with heavy rain, which can cause light flooding in some low-lying areas in Ho Chi Minh City and urban areas in the West.
The storm's impact on the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau (including the sea area of Ho Chi Minh City) is forecast to have Northeast winds of level 3-4, wave height from 0.5-1.5 m, normal sea. The sea area of Ca Mau - An Giang - Phu Quoc has light winds, wave height below 1.0 m, the sea is normal. In both sea areas, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6-7.
In response to the developments of storm No. 12, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City has sent an urgent dispatch to deploy proactive response measures.
The People's Committees of coastal wards - communes, island communes and special zones, the City Border Guard Command, the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control, and the City Coastal Information Station regularly notify vehicles and vessels operating at sea of the developments of storm No. 12 to have appropriate plans for production and exploitation of aquatic products.
Organize monitoring, counting, and statistics on the number of vessels operating in the affected area; maintain communication with vehicle owners to provide instructions on ensuring safety for vessels and vehicles (including tourist vessels) operating at sea and along the coast to proactively exit dangerous areas or return to safe shelters.
The Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control has a firm grasp of the location and coordinates of fishing vessels operating offshore, the number of crew members, the status of vessels under its management, especially fishing vessels in areas likely to be directly affected by the storm, notify vessels to move to take shelter and anchor safely; request ship owners and captains not to let crew members stay on the vessel when the storm makes landfall directly in the anchorage area.
Prepare forces, vehicles, and equipment to carry out search and rescue work when situations arise.
