At the Northeast gateway, the project to expand National Highway 13 (section from Binh Trieu bridge to Vinh Binh bridge) nearly 6 km long is being accelerated with site clearance to start construction in early 2027 and complete at the end of 2028.
The road will be expanded to 60 m, with the highlight being an elevated road about 3.55 km long (4 lanes, design speed of 80 km/h), below is a system of parallel roads of 8 - 10 lanes.

Ho Chi Minh City will also implement infrastructure renovation in the Hang Xanh - Binh Trieu area with a scale of about 26.8 ha. Dinh Bo Linh and Xo Viet Nghe Tinh roads will be expanded, combined with building elevated roads to form high-speed lanes.

Hang Xanh intersection is also built in a grade-separated, multi-layered form; and at the same time, Binh Trieu 3 bridge is added to increase traffic capacity through the Saigon River.
At the eastern gateway, the city will upgrade Hanoi Highway, including renovating 5 major intersections (An Phu, Cat Lai, Tay Hoa, Thu Duc intersection and High-Tech Park) in a grade-separated form, ensuring the main 6-lane axis continuously circulates at a design speed of 80 km/h. Preliminary total capital is about 3,500 billion VND.
To reduce traffic pressure in the Cat Lai port area, the Cat Lai - Phu Huu inter-port road, about 6 km long, will be started at the end of 2026 and completed by the end of 2028. The road is 60 m wide, with a scale of 12 lanes, accompanied by Ba Cua bridge with 10 lanes and a 4-lane elevated road section. The total investment of the project is about 8.782 billion VND.

Nguyen Thi Dinh Street - the main connecting axis to Cat Lai port - will also be expanded from 24 m to 60 - 73 m, with a scale of 8 - 14 lanes, with a total capital of about 5,000 billion VND.
Another important project is the road connecting from Hanoi Highway (Tram 2 intersection) to Ring Road 3, combined with completing Go Cong intersection, with a total capital of more than 12,400 billion VND, expected to start construction in early 2027 and be completed by the end of 2028.
At the southern gateway, Thu Thiem 4 bridge will start construction in 2026 and be completed in 2028 with a total capital of more than 5,000 billion VND. The project is about 2.16 km long (the bridge section is more than 1.6 km long, 8 lanes), connecting from Nguyen Van Linh street to Thu Thiem New Urban Area.

The Binh Tien bridge and road project (nearly 6,300 billion VND) will be implemented this year, including an elevated road about 3.1 km long and a parallel road below more than 3.3 km long.
The North - South axis (Nguyen Huu Tho street) will also be expanded to 60 m, combined with the construction of a 6.62 km long elevated route with a total capital of nearly 9,900 billion VND.
At the western gateway, the National Highway 1 expansion project (the section from Kinh Duong Vuong street to the border of Tay Ninh province) nearly 10 km long will be started this year, raising the road surface to 60 m with 10-12 lanes.

Vinh Loc road, more than 7.1 km long, has also been expanded to 30 m, with a total investment of about 6,870 billion VND, expected to be completed in 2028.
The Vo Van Kiet route extends more than 15 km, from the National Highway 1 intersection to the border of Tay Ninh province with a total capital of nearly 16,000 billion VND, expected to be completed in 2029, will contribute to opening up a more vital traffic axis in the East-West direction.
At the Northwest gateway, National Highway 22 (the section from An Suong intersection to Ring Road 3), 8 km long, will be expanded to 60 m with 10 lanes, and 7 overpasses will be built, with a total investment of about 6, 234 billion VND.

Ho Chi Minh City also invests in a new Northwest road nearly 10 km long connecting Ring Road 2 with the border of Tay Ninh province, with a scale of 6-8 lanes, total capital of over 17,200 billion VND, expected to be completed in 2029.
