According to the Ho Chi Minh City Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, recently approved by the Prime Minister, the city will focus on renovating and constructing existing provincial roads to support radial national highways.
The routes are expanded to 4 - 8 lanes: Provincial Road 2 (from National Highway 22 to Tay Ninh provincial border, 20.3 km long); Provincial Road 7 (from Tan Thai bridge to Provincial Road 15, 21.9 km long); Provincial Road 8 (from Thay Cai bridge to Provincial Road 9, 22.5 km long); Provincial Road 15 (from Ring Road 2 to Ben Suc bridge, 41 km long); Tran Van Giau Road (from the back gate of Pouyuen Company to Long An provincial border, 12.8 km long); Ha Duy Phien Road (from Rach Tra bridge to Provincial Road 8, 3.4 km long).
The routes are expanded to 4 - 6 lanes: Nguyen Van Bua Street (from National Highway 22 to Long An provincial border, 6.9 km long); Nguyen Huu Tri Street (from National Highway 1 to Long An provincial border, 5.1 km long); Dinh Duc Thien Street (from National Highway 1 to Long An provincial border, 2.3 km long); Provincial Road 6 (proposed extension of the route from Phu My Hung Shooting Range to Provincial Road 7 with a length of 10.6 km).
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, the above routes will be prioritized for investment and upgrading before 2030 to improve connectivity and reduce congestion in gateway areas.
In addition to the above routes, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport also proposed expanding a number of other important gateway routes from now until 2030.
Vinh Loc Street will be widened to 30m, from the intersection with Tran Van Giau Street (Provincial Road 10, Binh Chanh District) to the intersection with Road 2A in Vinh Loc Industrial Park (Binh Tan District). Within the scope of the project, the Vinh Loc - Tran Van Giau intersection will be upgraded to optimize the turn for vehicles entering and exiting.
At the same time, the 5-way intersection between Vinh Loc - Quach Dieu - Vo Van Van - Nguyen Thi Tu streets will also be built synchronously; a new Ba Tri bridge will be built with a width of 30 m and a length of more than 31 m. The total investment capital of the project is about 4,344 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget.
Phan Anh Street (Binh Tan District), from Hoa Binh Street to Ba Hom Street (2 km long) will be widened to 30 m, with a total investment of 1,750 billion VND. The project is expected to be implemented from now until 2030.
To Ky Street, from Northeast Street to Bau Intersection (District 12), 2.1 km long, will be widened to 40 m. The total investment is about 1,872 billion VND, using the HCMC budget.
