This elevated route is part of the Ring Road 3 project passing through Ho Chi Minh City, 47.1km long.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board), Ring Road 3 through Ho Chi Minh City has 10 construction packages, after more than 2 years of construction, it has reached 50% of the contract value.
Of which, the elevated section from Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to Tan Van Intersection, 14.7km long, is designed with 4 lanes, currently the section with the fastest progress with 5 construction packages, reaching about 55% of output.
Contractors are focusing on the construction of the bridge deck and girder installation, striving to officially open to traffic on December 31, 2025.

When put into operation, this elevated route will open a new route through Dong Nai, helping people from Ho Chi Minh City to go from Tan Van intersection to the elevated Ring Road 3, then choose the route through Nhon Trach bridge to enter the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway to Dong Nai.
This traffic direction will significantly reduce pressure on the currently overloaded Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.

The remaining sections of Ring Road 3 passing through the old Cu Chi, Hoc Mon and Binh Chanh districts, with a total length of 32.6km, are also under urgent construction.
Currently, the construction output in these areas has reached about 45%, contractors are focusing on treating weak soil, transporting sand and stone to construct roadbeds.
The Traffic Department aims that by the end of 2025, most of the main items will reach more than 70% of the volume, ensuring conditions for technical traffic opening at the same time as December 31, 2025.
Along with the main packages, auxiliary items such as lighting systems, signals and traffic safety will be deployed synchronously from October 2025 to meet the traffic opening schedule at the end of the year.
The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Department said it will continue to urge contractors to speed up construction progress, mobilize maximum resources to ensure the opening of each section, aiming to put the entire Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (including parallel routes) into operation before April 30, 2026.
