Ho Chi Minh City collects budget revenue from land in 2025 of more than 78,000 billion VND

Ho Chi Minh City - In 2025, total budget revenue from land in the city reached more than 78,000 billion VND, exceeding the plan by more than 173%.

On January 10, the Department of Agriculture and Environment (NNMT) of Ho Chi Minh City organized a conference to summarize the work in 2025, deploy the 2026 plan associated with Party building work and implement the tasks of the entire sector.

In 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has completed many key tasks, notably: Land management project and direction for effective land use; Environmental pollution reduction program for the period 2020-2030; Program for developing plant and animal breeds and high-tech agriculture for the period 2021-2030.

In the field of land, in 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development advised on approving specific land prices for 71 projects; reviewed 149 projects that were slow to put land into use; handled 109 projects... contributing to improving land use efficiency, limiting resource waste; making important contributions to the budget and infrastructure development investment. In particular, it focused on advising on building the Land Price List for the first time applied from January 1, 2026.

Speaking to direct, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Minh Thanh acknowledged and highly appreciated the comprehensive and in-depth results of the Agriculture and Environment sector in 2025.

According to Mr. Thanh, total revenue from land in the year reached 78,482 billion VND, exceeding 173.6% of the central government's estimate. At the same time, more than 46,346 billion VND of compensation capital was disbursed, contributing to unlocking resources for key projects and works.

Besides the achieved results, there are also many limitations that need to be overcome. In 2026, the Agriculture and Environment sector needs to continue to streamline the apparatus, promote administrative reform associated with digital transformation; effectively implement the new land price list; completely remove backlog projects; strengthen environmental protection, adapt to climate change and develop green urban agriculture, high technology in Ho Chi Minh City.
