Over 2,000 billion VND in compensation and resettlement for Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway

Ca Mau - The project to reclaim land, compensate, support, and resettle to implement the expressway from Ca Mau city to Dat Mui is expected to cost over VND 2,000 billion.

On June 16, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province officially issued a Decision to implement emergency public investment in the Land Acquisition, Compensation, Support and Resettlement Project to implement the expressway from Ca Mau city to Dat Mui.

The investment objective is to carry out land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement to have a site for handover to the investor to implement the project to invest in the construction of the expressway from Ca Mau city to Dat Mui according to the decision of the competent authority.

Investment location: According to the current administrative unit, there are 17 communes, belonging to 7 districts, including: Ho Thi Ky (Thoi Binh district); Khanh An commune (U Minh district); Khanh Binh, Khanh Binh Dong, Loi An (Tran Van Thoi district); Phu Hung, Hung My, Hoa My, Tan Hung Dong (Cai Nuoc district); Phu Thuan, Tan Hung Tay, Viet Thang, Rach Cheo (Phu Tan district); Dat Moi, Lam Hai (Nam Can district); Vien An, Dat Mui (Ngoc Hien district).

According to the new commune-level administrative unit (expected), there are 10 communes: Ho Thi Ky, Khanh An, Khanh Binh, Luong The Tran, Hung My, Cai Nuoc, Phu My, Nguyen Viet Khai, Dat Moi, Dat Mui.

The project implements land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement with an area of about 562 hectares. The total investment of the project is about 2,028 billion VND from the State budget (including 50% support from the central budget, the rest is balanced and allocated from the local budget).

The implementation time is consistent with the implementation time of the project to invest in the construction of the expressway implemented by the Ministry of National Defense; carry out site clearance work to ensure the site handover progress according to the requirements of the project's construction and implementation schedule, striving to complete in 2025.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province assigned the Land Fund Development Center to urgently carry out investment preparation steps, send the project Feasibility Study Report dossier to the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organize appraisal, report to competent authorities for consideration and decision; implement the project on schedule, ensure strict compliance with legal regulations, absolutely do not let negativity, waste, or violations of the law occur.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to advise the Provincial People's Committee on capital sources to implement the project; guide investors to implement the project in accordance with the regulations on emergency public investment projects stipulated in the Law on Public Investment 2024 and relevant legal regulations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment advises the Provincial People's Committee and guides investors and localities to fully implement related processes, records and procedures for site clearance in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring progress requirements.
