As one of the key projects of Thai Nguyen province, the Cau River overpass and connecting traffic system construction project is focused on. The goal is to connect urban space, shorten travel distances, and promote economic development.
Quang Vinh 1 Bridge was deployed in January 2025, the project is part of a project with a total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND, state budget capital, the investor is the Thai Nguyen City Construction Investment Project Management Board.
According to the design, the total length including the approach road and bridge is more than 3.4km, starting point Km0+0.00 at the intersection between Duong Tu Minh Street.
The end point of the route is at Km138+118, intersecting with National Highway 17 in Linh Son ward (formerly Chua Hang ward, Thai Nguyen city).
The bridge is designed with a structure of box girders and prestressed reinforced concrete, combined with a steel arch.
On August 9, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that the project is in the process of site clearance. The pile filling work is carried out at the same time as the water suction to treat the foundation.
At the construction site, workers and machinery are mobilized, focusing on leveling the ground, welding and connecting steel structures, gradually completing the bridge frame.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang ( Quan Trieu ward) said that when there was information about the project implementation, the people were very happy and hoped that the project would be completed and put into operation soon.
"The completed bridge not only connects the two sides of the river but also makes travel convenient and easy. The distance to the ward and the central Vo Nguyen Giap square is also faster," Mr. Thang added.
Informing the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the Thai Nguyen Province Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the construction units are urgently implementing many items, in which some locations have completed the foundation and pedestrian.
At abutments M1, T1 and T2, the bored piles, abutment piles, and pillars (T1) have been completed, and the contractor is currently erecting the abutment body, pillar body... according to the design.
The T3 pillar alone has only constructed 23/30 piles, and the implementation is currently interrupted due to floods sweeping away temporary bridges and service roads.
According to the plan, the bridge will be completed in 2026, the completion and operation of Quang Vinh 1 Bridge will contribute to improving traffic infrastructure, increasing regional connectivity, and expanding urban space.
