The project to build the new Phong Chau bridge - National Highway 32C, Phu Tho province will be implemented from the end of 2024 according to the Emergency Construction Order.
The project has a total investment of more than 635 billion VND from the central budget reserve; Thang Long Project Management Board (under the Ministry of Construction) is the project investor, the construction unit is Army Corps 12 - Truong Son Construction Corporation.
Coming to the new Phong Chau bridge construction site in early August, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded that hundreds of officers, engineers, workers and many modern vehicles and equipment are rushing to construct this key project.
To soon complete the project and put it into use, meeting the people's expectations, Truong Son Construction Corporation has organized 3 shifts, 4 teams, working regardless of day or night, holidays, holidays... for more than 7 months since the start of construction.
Up to now, the new bridge across the Red River has gradually taken shape, with a total implementation value of over 75%. The important items such as bored piles, piers, and T-shaped beams have all been completed, the work of casting and balancing the main spans is being quickly implemented... The investor and the construction unit are determined to close the bridge on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.
Mr. Bui Van Tuyen - a business owner at the head of Phong Chau bridge (Van Xuan commune) - shared: "For me as well as thousands and tens of thousands of people living on both sides of the Red River, Phong Chau bridge is very important for travel, trade exchange, and economic development. We are looking forward to it, the day the new bridge is completed will be a festival".
Recently, during the progress inspection, encouraging officers, soldiers and workers who are constructing the new Phong Chau bridge, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong requested the Department of Construction and related sectors to closely coordinate to promptly resolve problems as well as recommendations and proposals from investors; specifically calculate raw material prices, ensuring that they are suitable for the actual situation at each time.
The Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to review mines in the area, provide boulders for embankment construction and make additional estimates for the project.
Representatives of the construction units pledged to focus all resources, work overtime, and increase shifts to complete the remaining items according to the set plan, and promptly hand over the project to Phu Tho province for exploitation and use.
The newly built Phong Chau bridge crosses the Red River, located on National Highway 32C, connecting the two communes of Phung Nguyen and Van Xuan of Phu Tho province (belonging to Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district and Van Xuan commune, the old Tam Nong district).
According to the design, the main bridge is 383 m long, the approach road to the sliding bridge connecting to Phung Nguyen commune is 113 m long, the Van Xuan commune side is 155 m long, the surface is 20.5 m wide.
