The project to build the new Phong Chau bridge - National Highway 32C, Phu Tho province will be implemented from the end of 2024 according to the Emergency Construction Order, with a total investment of more than 635 billion VND from the central budget reserve fund
The project is invested by the Thang Long Project Management Board (under the Ministry of Construction), the construction unit is Army Corps 12 - Truong Son Construction Corporation.
Coming to the new Phong Chau bridge construction site in mid-June, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper noted that the construction unit had mobilized a lot of human resources, modern means and equipment to construct this important project.
It can be seen that the new Phong Chau bridge piers have taken shape, standing tall on the Red River, the water is turbulent, rising high, flowing rapidly, the usual image of this river every time the flood season comes.
For many months, the working atmosphere here has always been very urgent, working in 3 shifts, 4 teams, working regardless of night, day, or holiday. Some drive, some lift and lower steel, pour concrete, drill, weld... under hot summer weather, the shirts of the workers are always soaked with sweat.
The discipline, professionalism and diligence in the work of the staff, engineers, workers and employees of Truong Son Construction Corporation have left a deep impression on the local people.
Mr. Bui Van Tuyen - a trader at the beginning of Phong Chau bridge in Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district - shared: "My house in Viet Tri, every day from Viet Tri crosses the river to Tam Nong, seeing the army working hard day and night to operate the pontoon bridge and build a new bridge for the people, we are very impressed, proud and confident that the new Phong Chau bridge will be built with guaranteed quality and progress".
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Trieu Cong Hoan - Chairman of Van Xuan Commune People's Committee - shared that the previous work of dismantling and salvaging the old bridge and the construction of a new bridge in recent months has always been supported and facilitated by local people.
"When clearing the land to build a new bridge, people completely agreed and supported, without any worries. During the construction process, the people always support and create conditions when the army needs them... The project assigned to the army is very secure, everyone is happy to see the new bridge pillars in shape" - Mr. Hoan confided.
The construction unit strives to complete the new Phong Chau bridge before September 9 ( Initial mark on November 5), completing the project in early October 2025 according to the direction of the Ministry of National Defense's leaders.
The newly built Phong Chau bridge project is about 652.88 m long. Of which, the bridge length is about 383.3 m (to the end of the abutment), the road section at both ends of the viaduct connecting to the existing road on the Lam Thao side is about 113.8 m, on the Tam Nong side is about 155.78 m.
