On July 25, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a communication training conference in the field of energy-saving and efficient use for reporters and editors of press agencies in the Central region.
The conference is within the framework of the National Program on Energy Efficiency and Savings for the period 20192030 (VNEEP 3), marking the halfway to implement the program.
Speaking at the Conference, Ms. Do Thi Minh Tram - Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized that 2025 marks an important milestone: we have reached half of the implementation stage of the National Program on Energy Efficiency and Economy for the period 20192030 (VNEEP 3).
This is a program strongly directed by the Government, with a very clear goal: saving at least 7 10% of total national energy consumption by 2030, thereby contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving the competitiveness of the economy, ensuring national energy security.
Vietnam has reaffirmed its commitment to achieving net emissions of 0 by 2050 at the COP 26 Conference and reaffirmed at COP 27 and COP 28. That commitment is not only an international responsibility but also a driving force for us to fundamentally innovate development methods, towards a green, circular, low-carbon economy.
In that journey, saving energy and saving electricity is the most practical and effective solution, not only in the short term but also in the long term, to reduce pressure on energy supply, reduce costs for businesses and people and protect the environment.

On June 18, the National Assembly passed the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Energy Efficiency and efficiency, which will take effect from January 1, 2026. This is an important legal basis for perfecting policies, strongly promoting solutions for saving, managing electricity demand, developing green technology and innovation in the energy sector.
"In the process of implementing those major policies, communication work plays a very important role. Accurate, timely, close and in-depth information on energy-saving and efficient use is the "key" to spreading awareness, arousing community responsibility and promoting behavioral change in the whole society", said Ms. Tram.
