The inter-regional road project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province (now Lao Cai province) - has a total adjusted investment of 2,120 billion VND.
After more than 5 years of construction, to date, more than 53km of the main route has been handed over and put into operation (from 2024).
Currently, more than 2km of the main route (from Km0 - Km2+452) section passing through Van Xuan commune (Lam Son commune, former Tam Nong district) is still under construction.
According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, in mid-March 2026, the above-mentioned section has mostly been asphalted.
It can be seen that the construction contractor is carving the remaining sections, arranging traffic safety systems on the route (painting road markings, installing milestones, signs, speed bumps... ).
Mr. Nguyen Van Doan - a resident living in Hung Viet commune shared: "People are very eager for this road section to be completed, so that vehicles can conveniently move along National Highway 32 to Phong Chau bridge to Viet Tri or back to Thanh Son, Tan Son".
Like the remaining part of the main inter-regional road, the above-mentioned section is designed according to the scale of a grade III mountain road, with a design speed of 60 km/h.
On March 11, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do The Nam - Deputy Director of the Phu Tho Regional Project Management Board said that the construction contractor is carrying out asphalt paving of the remaining sections, expected to be completed in about 4 days.
The first 2km of the inter-regional road after being put into use will help the entire main route to be smooth, directly connected to the extended inter-regional road connecting National Highway 32, Phong Chau bridge, which is also under construction.
Along with that, the ending point of this route section (Km2+420) intersects with provincial road 315, which is the ending point of the Project to Invest in Renovation and Upgrading Provincial Road 315 connecting National Highway 32C with the inter-regional road of Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province - with a total investment of 120 billion VND invested by Van Xuan Commune People's Committee as the Investor.
