The main route of more than 50km connecting Phu Tho - Lao Cai
The Inter-regional Road project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province (now Lao Cai province) - initially had a total investment of 1,890 billion VND, after adjustment, the total investment of the project is 2,120 billion VND.
The project started on December 14, 2021, building a main route of more than 53.5km long with a design according to the scale of a grade III mountainous road, with a design speed of 60 km/h.

The main route passes through the communes of Van Xuan, Dong Luong, Phu Khe, Hung Viet, Cam Khe, Van Ban, Tien Luong, Van Lang, Hien Luong of Phu Tho province (old districts: Tam Nong, Cam Khe, Ha Hoa). The starting point intersects with National Highway 32 at Km82+380, the end point intersects with National Highway 32C at Km77 (Lao Cai).
By November 2024, that is, nearly 3 years since the start of construction, more than 53km of the main route has been handed over and put into use, meeting the expectations of people in localities where the route passes through.

Currently, the main inter-regional road only has the first section from Km0 - Km2+452 in Van Xuan commune, Phu Tho province under construction. This road section of more than 2km is currently mainly under construction, roadbed construction, and crushed stone paving, and the road surface has not been paved with asphalt.
Branch line connecting the largest industrial park in Phu Tho province
Along with the main route, the project also implements 2 construction packages: Branch route to connect from the main route (at Km23+910) to Cam Khe industrial park (Cam Khe commune); the route extends from the starting point of the main route (at Km0) to National Highway 32 (at Km76+150).
With the branch line connecting to Cam Khe Industrial Park, included in Package No. 32 worth more than 96 billion VND, construction has been underway since the end of October 2024.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper in early December, the road was built straight through the fields of the old Phong Thinh commune; with the section bordering the Cam Khe industrial park, the road was constructed through a high hill, connecting directly to this 450ha industrial park.
According to the design, the project has a total length of more than 3km, designed according to the standards of a grade III plain road, with a design speed of 80km/h. According to the report of the Phu Tho Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the construction contractor is digging the roadbed; filling the K95 and K98 roadbed; constructing the culverts across the road, Men Bridge and underpass.

According to the report of Cam Khe Commune People's Committee, the project's site clearance work has been completed, 428/428 households have been inventoried, reaching 100%; compensation and support have been approved and paid to 428/428 households; the entire length of the route has been handed over for 3.083/3.083km; resettlement areas have also been completed.
Inter-regional road extended to near Phong Chau bridge
For the extended route from the starting point of the main route to National Highway 32 (near Phong Chau bridge), Package No. 60: Construction of the extended route, with the winning bid price of nearly 97.6 billion VND, to be implemented from May 2025.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, after nearly 7 months of construction, the route has basically taken shape. It can be seen that the contractor is implementing the work of digging and filling the roadbed, spreading crushed stone, constructing a drainage system, building an overpass on Ho Chi Minh Road...
According to Mr. Do The Nam - Director of the Phu Tho Project Management Board - the extended road construction package is focusing on the construction of the Ho Chi Minh overpass, the excavation and embankment of the roadbed (3.5/3.726km), the construction of precast components, and the construction of the drainage system on the route.

Regarding compensation and resettlement, Mr. Nam informed that up to now, 315/315 households have been inventoried and compensation plans have been prepared, reaching 100%; compensation and payment plans have been approved for 295/315 households; 3.5/3.726km of site has been handed over.
