Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 42/KH-UBND to synchronously deploy solutions to raise awareness and skills in preventing and combating drowning for students in the province with many specific goals.
By 2030, 95% of cadres, teachers, students, and parents will be informed about drowning prevention and control, reaching a rate of 100% by 2035. Strive for 70% of students to be taught practical knowledge and skills in drowning prevention by 2030, increasing to 90% by 2035.
Tuyen Quang province also aims to increase the rate of students who know how to swim safely, at least 55% of grade 5 students, 65% of grade 9 students and 75% of grade 12 students by 2030, by 2035, these figures will be 70%, 80% and 90%, respectively.
To achieve the above goals, Tuyen Quang province plans to build and upgrade infrastructure by 2030, at least 20% of primary schools, 15% of secondary and high schools have swimming pools, increasing to 30% and 25% by 2035. 50% of commune-level units will have at least one swimming pool by 2030, increasing to 70% by 2035.
Call for the participation of organizations, businesses, and individuals in building swimming pools and supporting swimming teaching equipment. Mobilize capital from national target programs to ensure effective implementation.
At the same time, it will improve the capacity of the teaching staff trained in drowning prevention and control. Each school will have at least 2 teachers trained in safe swimming by 2030 and increase to 3 teachers by 2035.
Currently, the whole province of Tuyen Quang has 7 district-level administrative units and 137 commune-level administrative units.
