On October 24, in Ganh Dau commune, Phu Quoc city (Kien Giang), the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 coordinated with the Propaganda Department of Phu Quoc City Party Committee to organize propaganda and dissemination of laws combined with social security activities in the area.
The reporter of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command disseminated some basic contents of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard; decrees related to the Law on Fisheries; some provisions of the Penal Code on acts related to illegal exploitation, trading, and transportation of aquatic products...
In particular, at the conference, delegates watched the reportage Resolutely combating IUU fishing (illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing) produced by the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 and were informed about the mobile trial on "Organizing and brokering for others to illegally flee abroad" conducted by the People's Court of Ca Mau province.
According to the Command of Coast Guard Region 4, Ganh Dau is a commune with a large number of vessels operating in the historical waters between Vietnam and Cambodia. In order to prevent fishermen from illegally exploiting the sea, regular propaganda is needed to raise awareness and responsibility for complying with legal regulations. This will contribute to the quick removal of the yellow card by the European Committee (EC) at all levels, sectors and the entire political system.
At the conference, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 presented 10 gifts worth 10 million VND to families of policy beneficiaries and fishermen in difficult circumstances, and presented Uncle Ho's pictures, medical bags, and national flags to fishermen working at sea.
