Traffic jam on highway, spreading to National Highway 51, National Highway 1
Since July 15, the repair of the expansion joints at Long Thanh Bridge on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (abbreviated as HLD Expressway) has caused serious congestion on this expressway and spread to other already overloaded routes such as National Highway 51, National Highway 1.
Vietnam Expressway Engineering Services Joint Stock Company (VEC E) is currently the unit implementing the management and operation of the HLD expressway.

On July 21, responding to a reporter from Lao Dong newspaper, a representative of VEC E said that in order to minimize traffic congestion on the expressway as well as ensure the progress of repairing damaged expansion joints on Long Thanh bridge, VEC E has arranged enough personnel and equipment to serve traffic flow and regulation at locations such as: Km12+907 - Long Thanh bridge, National Highway 51 intersection, Km99 intersection - Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, Dau Giay intersection, BOT 319 toll station;
At the same time, VEC E also always provides and updates full and continuous information about the traffic situation on the HLD expressway to promptly inform vehicles.
VEC E representative also said that they have arranged many warning signs, clear, continuous and honest information on the route so that people can choose a suitable route during the repair of Long Thanh bridge, not letting people go to the highway to collect tolls.
VEC E: No regulations on price exemption and reduction policies
Reporters from Lao Dong newspaper also questioned the construction process of Long Thanh bridge but not ensuring travel, causing congestion, why not exempt or reduce ticket prices for people, VEC E representative said that there are currently no relevant regulations on ticket exemption and reduction policies.
"Just how much fee reduction is required, the fee reduction or fee increase policy must be approved by many parties such as the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction, not reduction is reduction. If the State has a regulation on free and no fee collection during the repair period in the future, we will strictly comply" - VEC E representative shared.

According to VEC E, the HLD expressway is also congested without repair, the construction process of repairing the Long Thanh bridge blocking 1 lane will of course be more congested. Currently, the HLD expressway is a "peak" every day, not just on summer days, holidays, Tet holidays... because this expressway is overloaded compared to the original design.

VEC E also believes that non-urgent projects can be worked at night, not during the day. However, for this item, we are forced to work continuously on site and repair it immediately and hope people will share.
VEC E is the operator and operator, while the investor, VEC (Vietnam Expressway Corporation) is also trying to work with the contractor to speed up the progress. According to the plan, it is 15 days but 3 days ahead of schedule, and construction will be completed by July 27.
The Traffic Police Department of Dong Nai Province Police announces 3 routes:
Route 1: Vehicles move onto the Ben Luc - Long Thanh - Truong Chinh road - Tran Phu road (road 319) - Ton Duc Thang - towards Cat Lai ferry (car and passenger car with less than 16 seats).
Route 2: Vehicles moving on National Highway 51 - Ton Duc Thang Street - towards Cat Lai ferry (car and passenger car with less than 16 seats).
Route 3: Vehicles moving on National Highway 51 towards National Highway 1 (Dong Nai Bridge), for passenger vehicles with more than 16 seats and large freight vehicles.
