On the evening of August 28, the area of Binh Trieu 1 Bridge and Pham Van Dong Street (Hiep Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) was still in a state of prolonged congestion. The line of vehicles was dense, moving slowly from the slope of Binh Trieu 1 bridge towards Pham Van Dong street.
According to records, the traffic jam started at around 4pm the same day. At the turn from Binh Trieu 1 Bridge to Pham Van Dong Street, motorbikes and cars crowded together, sometimes having to stop completely. Many people tried to climb the sidewalk to escape the traffic jam. Neighboring roads such as Pham Van Dong - National Highway 13 intersection and Binh Loi bridge are also congested along the route.

The Traffic Police of the Rach Chiec Team coordinated with local police to be on duty to regulate, direct traffic and guide the replacement route. However, due to the large number of vehicles and the long congestion area, handling is difficult.
The Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center (HCMC Department of Construction) said that Binh Trieu 1 Bridge is in the stage of raising the clearance by 1.08m, expected to be completed in 2025. The construction will also affect traffic in the Northeast gateway area in the coming time. The authorities recommend that people proactively monitor information and consider routes to avoid traffic jams.
