Previously, on the afternoon of May 3, on National Highway 20 through Lam Dong province, a collision occurred between a truck and a passenger bus, causing serious traffic congestion for many kilometers from Da Lat City to Ho Chi Minh City. By evening, vehicles were able to circulate normally.

The National Traffic Safety Committee assessed that, thanks to the guidance of the Party committees, authorities, ministries, branches and localities; The preparation early, seriously and effectively deployed the functional forces, so the traffic order and safety situation in 05 days of the basic holiday is guaranteed well. In addition to strengthening traffic to ensure traffic routes of functional forces, central and local media agencies have promptly reported to reflect the traffic situation across the country, helping people to choose the appropriate route and traffic time, contributing to reducing the pressure and congestion, especially in the two big cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in the first day of the holiday.

However, due to the increased traffic volume to serve the travel needs of people during the holiday season, traffic congestion still occurs at key gateways, beltways and expressways of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on the first and last days of the holiday.
