On January 3rd, Dong Thanh Commune Police in coordination with professional units are urgently investigating the cause of the collision between a container truck and a motorbike that killed one person on the spot.
According to initial information, on the same morning, a male driver driving a container truck with Ho Chi Minh City license plate was traveling on Bui Cong Trung street, moving in the direction from Ha Huy Giap street towards Vong bridge.
When the car just arrived at the Vong bridge area (in Dong Thanh commune), it collided with a motorbike driven by a man, carrying a woman traveling in the same direction.
The collision caused both people on the motorbike to fall to the road. As a result, the woman died on the spot, the man accompanying her was injured and received medical assistance immediately afterwards.
Notably, after the collision, the container truck driver did not stop immediately but continued to drive the vehicle for a long distance. It was not until people in the area discovered, chased and stopped it that the driver stopped the vehicle.
Upon receiving the news, the Dong Thanh Commune Police force quickly arrived to coordinate with the Traffic Police (CSGT) force to seal off the scene, conduct an examination and take initial statements from the container driver to clarify the cause of the incident.
