The consulting consortium has just completed a mid-term report on the route direction and location of works on urban railway line No. 1 (Binh Duong New City - Suoi Tien).
According to the research plan, the line has a length of 30.66 km, starting point at S1 station, A1 roundabout area, Binh Duong ward (HCMC).
The ending point is S17 station in Dong Hoa ward (HCMC), connecting to urban railway line No. 2 of Dong Nai.

The entire route passes through 7 wards, including: Binh Duong, Phu Loi, Thuan Giao, An Phu, Di An, Tan Dong Hiep and Dong Hoa.
The project is expected to build 17 new elevated stations, numbered from S1 to S17, along with Phu Chanh Depot to serve the gathering, maintenance and operation of trains.
Regarding technology, the line is proposed with a maximum operating speed of 110 km/h. The main technical standards are researched in the direction of unifying with Metro Line No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong).
The research report on the route direction and location of works on the route has basically been completed according to current regulations. The consulting unit is requesting relevant agencies and units to contribute opinions to continue updating and completing the dossier, as a basis for implementing the next steps of the project.
Ho Chi Minh City sets a target to start construction of the Binh Duong - Suoi Tien New City Metro line by the end of 2026 and complete it by 2030.
When completed, the line is expected to increase the connectivity of the Binh Duong New City area with the new Mien Dong Bus Station area, Suoi Tien and the urban railway network of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, contributing to the formation of a large-capacity public transport network between urban areas in the East.
