On December 12, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Chau Van Hoa worked with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and a number of relevant sectors on the resettlement plan and land acquisition plan in the Thanh Long islet landslide area, Quoi Thien commune.
At the meeting, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long presented a draft to relocate 6 households located in very high landslide areas to the residential area of phase 2 (Vung Liem town, before the merger), now in Trung Tin hamlet, Trung Thanh commune, for implementation in the period of 2025 - 2026.
The draft also states a plan to support land recovery for 29 related households. The total cost of the project is more than 115 billion VND, ensuring the arrangement of resettlement land with a width of 4.5m and a length of 20m for households.

Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Chau Van Hoa suggested that the agricultural and environmental sector implement the project in accordance with the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Hoa also requested to continue to fully review legal bases related to people's relocation, while carefully assessing environmental impacts, climate change, alcohol status and the necessity of implementing the project.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Chau Van Hoa assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and work directly with 6 households on the resettlement plan; at the same time, assigned the Department of Finance to proactively arrange funding to carry out the relocation according to the plan.
