Accordingly, Nghi Loc District General Hospital received 42 workers with symptoms of headache, nausea, hot flushes, some cases had chest tightness, burning, redness, rash on the face, neck, arms, fatigue. The initial diagnosis was food poisoning, grade 1 anaphylaxis, the hospital treated with intravenous fluids, antihistamines, corticosteroids...
After receiving IV fluids, antihistamines, corticosteroids... all patients' health has stabilized. Currently, the hospital is continuing to monitor and treat the patients.
21 other workers were taken to Cua Dong General Hospital and 115 General Hospital (Vinh City) for emergency treatment.
It is known that these 63 people all used lunch from the same catering company. The lunch included dishes such as: rice, braised pork with radish, fried silver pomfret, stir-fried pickled vegetables with meat, stir-fried cabbage, oranges, sour soup...
Leaders of Nghe An Department of Health have requested medical units in the area to provide maximum support to best treat workers suspected of food poisoning.
Coordinate with the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene, Nghi Loc District Medical Center to provide medical records, clinical and paraclinical test results and related information to serve the handling and investigation of the case. Collect samples, preserve and hand over to the unit in charge of the investigation to send for testing to determine the cause.
Nghe An General Hospital has directed the Outpatient Emergency Team to be ready to support the above hospitals and lower level units if necessary. It has directed the Department of Resuscitation and Anti-Poison and related departments to prepare plans, be ready to arrange human resources, medicine, supplies, and medical equipment to receive severe cases transferred from lower level hospitals.
In addition, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department organized an investigation, coordinated with the People's Committee, the Department of Health of Nghi Loc district and related units to direct the implementation of investigation activities, handle and promptly overcome the consequences of the incident.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, after lunch on December 6, 63 workers (57 from Premium Fashion Company - WHA Industrial Park, 6 from 1 enterprise in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park) showed symptoms of dizziness, headache, nausea... and were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
