The Bai Dinh (Ninh Binh) - Ba Sao (Ha Nam) road project, phase II, the section passing through Ninh Binh province, has a total length of 17.26km with a total investment of over 583 billion VND, of which the construction package value is 281 billion VND. The project is invested by the Ninh Binh Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
According to the investor's representative, the route passes through 5 administrative units of Gia Vien district with a total area of residential land and adjacent garden land expected to need to be reclaimed to implement the project of more than 26,000m2 involving 388 households and individuals.

However, on the main route, 2.6km passes through Van Long wetland Nature Reserve, special-use forest and nearly 600m passes through national defense land. Although the implementation process has been implemented by the investor and determined in directing and operating, it still faces many difficulties and problems.
According to the plan, the entire project will be completed and put into operation in 2025. However, due to problems in site clearance, the project implementation progress is being delayed.
"Currently, we have selected a contractor to construct the construction package and signed a contract and started implementing at the site. However, currently, the entire route of only 3.7km/7.6km has cleared land for construction. The remaining section has not been cleared yet" - said a representative of the Ninh Binh Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc - Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee - said that the set goal is to strive to basically complete the Bai Dinh - Ba Sao route (section through Ninh Binh province) in 2025. Therefore, the province is requiring investors and contractors to focus highly, coordinate closely to resolve problems, and speed up the project implementation progress.

Regarding site clearance, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province requested Gia Vien district to coordinate with relevant sectors to focus on speeding up the progress of site clearance at remaining locations. At the same time, coordinate with the investor to propose a plan to implement the return technical infrastructure works on the route and promptly hand over the site for the contractor to organize the construction.
"The construction of the road must be of worthy scale, ensuring aesthetic and landscape factors, creating architectural highlights and promoting urban development as well as local socio-economic development. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully study and calculate, select design solutions, determine the route direction, location, and scope of the project to ensure reasonableness, suitability, and efficiency for each specific route section" - Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc emphasized.
The Bai Dinh - Ba Sao route not only aims to reduce traffic on National Highway 1A, but is also an axis for inter-regional and inter-provincial socio-economic development; connecting tourism development between Bai Dinh (Ninh Binh) - Tam Chuc (Ha Nam) - Huong Pagoda (Hanoi). Hopefully the route will be completed soon, contributing to changing the face of the countryside in Gia Vien, while exploiting the potential and strengths to make Ninh Binh tourism a spearhead economic sector.
