On the morning of November 5, amid the high waves caused by storm No. 13, the Da Nang Border Guard crossed the sea to Tan Hiep island commune (Cu Lao Cham) to promptly take a critical patient to the mainland for emergency care.
Previously, at 6:00 a.m. the same day, the People's Committee of Tan Hiep commune received a report from the Military-Civilian Medical Station of Tan Hiep commune about the case of Ms. Ho Thi Nh. (born in 2019, residing in Bai Lang village, Tan Hiep commune) had a severe breathing attack, acute respiratory failure, difficulty breathing, many underlying diseases, and needed to be urgently transferred to a higher level. However, the sea was rough, with big waves, and on-site vehicles were not qualified to go to sea, posing a risk to the patient's life.
Immediately after receiving the Official Letter of Request from the People's Committee of Tan Hiep Commune, when the City Border Guard Command mobilized the Ship of Border Guard Squadron 2 Son Tra to cross the waves to the island. Despite the harsh weather conditions, officers and soldiers quickly approached, took the patient to a boat and safely transported him to the mainland for timely emergency care.
During the recent prolonged storm and flood, the Da Nang Border Guard was one of the forces actively participating in prevention, rescue, and assistance to people during and after the historic flood, demonstrating the spirit of "serving the people" and being ready to respond to all situations, contributing to protecting the safety of people's lives in the island area.
