At around 7:00 p.m. on October 27, floodwaters began to flood into the Duy Xuyen Medical Center, and the surrounding roads were deeply flooded, making it impossible for people to move.
Ms. Le Thi Ba (a patient being treated at Duy Xuyen Medical Center) was very worried at that time when the entire area had no power and had to run an explosive. Because they could not go out, Ms. Ba and many patients had no food or drinking water for a while.

According to Ms. Le Thi Ba, when the floodwaters flooded, doctors and nurses at the Medical Center had to stay up all night, moving patients and machinery from the first floor to the second floor to avoid flooding. The sudden rise in floodwaters caused the area to be completely cut off, immediately after that, the medical center promptly provided nearly 200 patients with drinking water, instant noodles, sausages, etc.
"The floodwaters at that time surrounded the entire medical center, which had no power. On the first day, the hospital supported us with instant noodles and drinking water. On October 29, when the floodwaters rose, charity teams took boats and boats to supply rice and porridge to nearly 200 patients and their families who were stranded" - Ms. Ba said.

Also haunted by the flooding scene, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lai (a patient at Duy Xuyen Medical Center) told the story of many nurses and doctors at the Center who had to wade through floodwaters during the flood to support medical examination and treatment and emergency care.
In recent days, soldiers and authorities have organized mud cleanup, the Medical Center is trying to return to normal operations.

Talking to Lao Dong, doctors at Duy Xuyen Medical Center (Da Nang) informed that during the rainy and flood days, the hospital had moved all chupage equipment and patients on the 2nd floor to ensure safety and avoid damage. The medical center has also been trying to return to operation in recent days, organizing medical examination and treatment for people normally.
According to the Da Nang City Civil Defense Command, the particularly heavy flood that lasted from October 25 to 31 caused serious damage in the area, initially estimated at more than 837 billion VND.
The health sector suffered great losses with 3 hospitals flooded (of which Quang Nam General Hospital and Duy Xuyen Medical Center were flooded over 1m) and 40 health stations in Cam Le, Dai Loc, Dien Ban... were deeply flooded.
