On July 3, information from the People's Committee of Con Cuong commune, Nghe An province said that the locality has issued a plan to respond to the "500 Days and Nights" Campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of remains of martyrs who lack information in the area.
The campaign is deployed from March 15, 2026 to July 27, 2027, towards the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2027.
According to the People's Committee of Con Cuong commune, the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains is an important political task, reflecting the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", the responsibility and feelings of today's generation towards those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Through the campaign, the locality sets a goal to promote the overall strength of the entire political system and society; mobilize the participation of cadres, party members, veterans, families of martyrs and people in providing information, coordinating verification, searching, and repatriating martyrs' remains.

Con Cuong Commune People's Committee calls on veterans, those who participated in combat, served in combat or lived in previous battlefields to actively provide information related to the place of sacrifice, the initial burial place of martyrs, battles, burial locations or valuable information to serve verification work.
For families of martyrs, localities propose to proactively review and supplement documents, keepsakes, letters, diaries and information related to martyrs; coordinate with functional agencies in the process of verifying, comparing dossiers and taking DNA biological samples when requested.
The People's Committee of Con Cuong commune also requested that all people, if they have information about martyrs, martyrs' graves or locations that may be related to martyr burial places, provide it to the local government, the Military Command of the commune or functional agencies to serve the verification and search work.
According to local authorities, even the smallest information can be an important basis to help identify martyrs, helping families find their loved ones after many years of waiting.
