On November 25, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Do Thi Hai Yen - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nha Nam Commune (Bac Ninh Province) said that recently, the People's Committee of the commune issued a decision to administratively sanction 8 citizens in the area for littering in the wrong place.
"Based on the provisions of Point C, Clause 2, Article 25 of Decree 45/2022/ND-CP dated July 7, 2022 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the field of environmental protection, the People's Committee of the commune has imposed a fine of over 750,000 VND per case. The total fine for the 8 cases is 6,000,000 VND," said Ms. Do Thi Hai Yen.
According to the Chairman of Nha Nam Commune People's Committee, there are currently a total of 197 cameras in the commune. Of which: 157 were newly installed (newly installed commune People's Committees: 22; newly installed commune Fatherland Front: 42; newly installed villages: 93); pre- installed: 40 units.
The number of cameras installed in the commune has contributed significantly to the management of land, construction, environment, and security in the locality, especially in monitoring people littering and detecting violations.
Cameras installed at "hot spots" for waste help record images and videos of people littering in the wrong place or illegally dumping waste, thereby making it easier to handle administrative violations and raising people's awareness of environmental protection.
"Handling and punishing cases of littering in public places helps to significantly reduce littering and littering in public places compared to before, thereby preventing pollution.
In addition, it helps the collection, transportation and treatment of waste by the Environmental Sanitation Team become more efficient and convenient," said Ms. Do Thi Hai Yen.
In the coming time, the People's Committee of Nha Nam commune will continue to direct specialized departments, regular security forces, and security teams in villages to strengthen environmental protection work, make records of administrative violations for violations, and closely monitor environmental sanitation work in the area through many channels, including camera systems installed in villages.
