According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City on September 23, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Anh Tuan just had a working session with the People's Committee of Duy Xuyen Commune on the disbursement progress of the National Target Program on poverty reduction and the implementation of the new school year 2025-2026.
According to the report by the end of 2024, Duy Xuyen commune has 106 multidimensional poor households out of a total of 7,699 households (accounting for 1.37%); By September 2025, it will decrease to 99 households (equivalent to 1.28%).
Near-poor households are 42 households (accounting for 0.54%). The whole commune has 16,634 workers, with an average income per capita of 67 million VND/year. From 2021 to present, the commune has implemented 3 projects to support production development for 53 households, focusing on raising garden chickens and breeding cows, prioritizing poor households, near-poor households, households newly escaped poverty and households with people with disabilities.
Duy Xuyen commune identifies the key goal of helping vulnerable groups access sustainable production models, gradually stabilize their lives, and integrate into the community. From now until 2025, the locality will continue to monitor and disburse the remaining capital and implement additional support projects with a total cost of 1.7 billion VND.
Regarding education, in the 2025-2026 school year, Duy Xuyen commune has 11 educational institutions, including 9 public schools, 1 private kindergarten and Nguyen Hien High School. The number of assigned positions is 320 people, currently there are only 298 people, and 22 additional contracts must be signed.
Duy Xuyen Commune People's Committee proposed that the city consider supporting more than 59 billion VND to invest in facilities, purchase equipment and repair schools; At the same time, it recommended allocating career funds in 2025, supporting labor contracts for schools, as well as having a mechanism for appointing, raising seniority allowances and investing in infrastructure for teaching.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan acknowledged the efforts and proposals of the Duy Xuyen Commune People's Committee.
Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan requested the locality to review the remaining tasks, develop a final handling plan, and promote the application of digital technology in management and operation. After being allocated capital, projects need to be urgently allocated and implemented according to the correct procedures, ensuring progress.
In the field of education, it is necessary to improve the quality of the teaching staff, innovate teaching methods, apply digital transformation, and take the quality of education as the core.
Da Nang City will review, allocate resources, prioritize investment in education, and at the same time direct relevant departments and branches to advise on appropriate policies for sustainable development, ensuring poverty reduction associated with improving the quality of teaching and learning.
