On September 11, the Government Office issued Document No. 474/TB-VPCP announcing the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the progress inspection of the Long Thanh International Airport project (Long Thanh airport) phase 1 and connecting infrastructure projects.
The notice clearly states that the completion goal, meeting the standards and conditions for the project to be inaugurated as prescribed on December 19, 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister will not change.
In case it is not possible to complete this progress requirement correctly, the governing agencies and investors of the projects must take full responsibility and promptly report to the Prime Minister.
Regarding the Long Thanh airport project, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to review and fully count the resettlement land area for the project.
The province coordinates with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction to review legal regulations and opinions of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee in Document No. 949/UBKTTC15 dated September 5, 2025 to report to competent authorities to thoroughly handle the adjustment of the Resettlement Area in Binh Son Commune - Sub-area III in accordance with authority and legal regulations in October 2025.
Complete and hand over the entire site at the National Highway 51 intersection of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project in September 2025 for the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) to complete the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project according to the committed schedule, in order to soon connect synchronously with the Long Thanh airport project.
The Government leaders also requested the urgent completion of the selection of investors to implement the fuel pipeline system project for aircraft from the primary port to the airport in September 2025 to ensure the completion of the project before December 19, 2025.
Vietnam Airports Corporation proactively coordinates with the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Finance to develop a plan for airport management, operation, and exploitation; prepare a team of officers for operation, management, security, customs and synchronous services, meeting the criteria of a 5-star international transit airport.
For connecting infrastructure projects, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai province, the Ministry of Construction, and competent agencies and investors to continue to focus on inspecting, urging, and directing the acceleration of the implementation of connecting traffic routes, fuel lines, fiber optic cables, and other connecting works to ensure synchronous completion according to the committed schedule.
In particular, it is important to note that for the fuel pipeline system, it is necessary to calculate long-term, study the option of storage and supply of clean fuel (SAF) according to international regulations.
The Ministry of Construction reviews and reports to competent authorities to adjust legal regulations (if necessary) related to regulations on the authority of specialized agencies to appraise basic design documents and technical designs for project works with complex technical elements.
Regarding the source of filling materials, investors and construction contractors are required to develop a detailed plan on monthly, weekly and daily needs so that the People's Committee of Dong Nai province can have a plan and be proactive in coordinating the supply of materials at mines in the province to ensure the source of materials for the project.
