On July 26, the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, Smuggling and Environment (Tay Ninh Provincial Police) issued a decision to administratively sanction Kornbest Vietnam Company Limited for serious violations in the field of environmental protection.
Kornbest Vietnam Co., Ltd., located at Thanh Dien Industrial Cluster, Thanh Phuoc Quarter, Thanh Dien Ward, was discovered to have committed 2 violations.
According to the inspection and verification results, the enterprise has discharged waste with environmental parameters exceeding technical standards by 10 times or more, with a flow rate of 200 to less than 400m3/day. In addition, the company also arbitrarily installed equipment and pipes to directly discharge untreated waste into the environment.
Based on the provisions of law, Tay Ninh Provincial Police have issued a decision to administratively fine Kornbest Company with a total amount of 772,163,345 VND. At the same time, the enterprise was stripped of the right to use the environmental license for a period of 4.5 months.
In addition to paying the fine, the company is also required to take remedial measures, handle the caused pollution and report the remedial results to the authorities within 60 days from the date of receipt of the decision.
The announcement of the penalty decision was witnessed by representatives of Thanh Dien Ward People's Committee, local police and local people.
