On the evening of January 5, the leader of the People's Committee of Nhon Hoi Commune (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh) said that the Commune Police were still working and taking statements from Mr. Nguyen Duc Viet (41 years old, residing in Nhon Hoi Commune) - the person who beat student D.N.A.K (7th grade student) last night.
"During the investigation, Mr. Viet confessed that he was upset when he heard that his son was beaten by K, so he went to find and beat K. Mr. Viet and K's family are related," he said.
Ms. N.H (K's mother) said that after the incident, the family took K to the hospital for a check-up. Currently, K's mental and physical health are still unstable, and there are still many wounds on his face.
As Lao Dong reported, at around 8:30 p.m. on January 4, K was sitting with a group of friends at a coffee shop in Nhon Hoi commune when suddenly Mr. Viet drove up on a motorbike and repeatedly hit K. Not stopping there, Mr. Viet continued to grab K by the neck and drag him out into the middle of the street to assault him.
The incident happened in front of many witnesses, but no one stepped in to stop it, even though the boy kept screaming. The entire incident was recorded by a camera and shared on Facebook, causing public outrage.
