On July 30, Deputy Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone Dinh Van Noi chaired a working session with units: Provincial Police, special zone; Mobile Police Battalion, special forces in Phu Quoc; Border Guard Stations; Special Zone People's Committee and representatives of professional departments and divisions on ensuring security and order (ANTT) and state management in the area.

According to the report at the working session, in the first 7 months of 2026, the Special Zone Police and functional forces have closely followed the area, proactively deploying many plans to fight and suppress crime: 78/103 cases have been investigated and solved, 189 subjects have been arrested and handled. In particular, the case breaking work is very serious and especially serious, reaching a rate of 100%. 11 gambling dens, 3 prostitution dens were cracked down, and hundreds of subjects were educated and deterred.
Functional forces have discovered, arrested and prosecuted 83 cases with 131 subjects, seizing more than 1kg of drugs of all kinds. Through quick inspection of 2,525 subjects, 74 cases have been filed for compulsory detoxification. Phu Quoc Special Zone Police received and resolved 140/178 denunciations and crime reports, preventing overdue situations from occurring. Arrested 13 wanted subjects (including 1 international wanted subject).
Establishing a channel to reflect tourism, supporting the handling of 113 cases of tourists encountering room booking incidents; removing 37 articles with malicious content on cyberspace and sanctioning administrative violations of individuals who provide false information. Besides the achieved results, the leaders of the special zone also frankly pointed out some limitations such as: Basic professional work still has limitations, the traffic accident situation has increased and there are still officers and soldiers who violate and are disciplined.
Speaking to direct at the working session, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the special zone Dinh Van Noi highly appreciated the efforts of the forces but also spent most of his time rectifying shortcomings, especially the situation of lax land management, illegal construction on forest land and the working style of officials.

Emphasizing the current situation of forest land being encroached upon, illegally built into resorts, restaurants... Mr. Dinh Van Noi requested urgent statistics, classification and immediate elimination of violations.
Whoever signs and issues incorrectly must be responsible. Unstable land papers, unstable land types but issuing business licenses, electricity, water supply... are unacceptable. In the near future, a review will be conducted, and anyone who violates will be strictly and thoroughly handled," Mr. Dinh Van Noi emphasized.
In addition, requesting the Police force to closely coordinate with the Mobile Police Battalion, special forces in Phu Quoc, and the Border Guard to strengthen control of roads to and from the island. Focus on promoting the movement to collect weapons, explosives, and floating support tools, resolutely not allowing notorious subjects and black society to rampage.
In particular, Mr. Dinh Van Noi requested the entire political system and the Police force to change their thinking to serve the people: Do not avoid receiving citizens, must proactively organize dialogues to listen to the people's thoughts. Do not let the people be upset and have to carry petitions to complain.
In performing tasks, officers and soldiers working with the people must be polite, courteous, and persistently persuade. Absolutely no confrontational thoughts with the people. The Secretary of the Party Committee of the special zone added that he will directly or ask someone to call to randomly check hotlines receiving information in the area to check the process and attitude of handling work of each unit.
