In 4 days from July 21 to 24, the Phu Quoc Special Zone and An Giang Provincial Enforcement Committee and coordinating forces will organize the enforcement of 26 cases with a total area of more than 223,500 m2 of recovered land. Including 15 decisions of the Chairman of the Special Zone People's Committee, 2 decisions of the Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee and 9 decisions of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province. All enforcement decisions are based on a strict legal basis, going through all procedures for making records, handling violations and propaganda and mobilization.
Identifying mass mobilization as the key to creating consensus, over the past time, Phu Quoc special zone authorities at all levels have organized a series of propaganda and mobilization campaigns. Each working group has persistently gone to households, patiently explaining legal regulations on land management order, protection of public land and protection forests.
Not only stopping at making violation records, the special zone government also clearly shows humanity when it has repeatedly relaxed the deadline, creating maximum conditions for families to proactively relocate assets and dismantle illegal works. This is a clear proof of the tolerance, understanding and respect for the legitimate rights and aspirations of the people.
Faced with the intentional delay and refusal to remedy in a few cases, the special zone government is determined not to let violations exist for a long time, causing challenges to public opinion.
Humane in mobilization but resolute and strict in law enforcement is the strong message from Phu Quoc's campaign this time. This is an important step to tighten discipline, protect natural resources and create a transparent environment for the sustainable development of the special zone.
