Each car is equipped with an alarm system, but not all signals are clearly shown on the dashboard. Some warnings, although rarely appearing on taplo, can be a sign of serious problems if not paid due attention. Here are some notes from Dr. Thomas Muller, an expert in automotive technology at BMW Group.
Warning of low tire pressure
Low tire pressure may not always appear on the dashboard, especially if you are not in an emergency situation. However, this can cause serious unsafety, especially when driving at high speeds. A slightly tightened tire can reduce roadattack, making it more difficult to handle the vehicle, especially in bad weather conditions or when the vehicle is at a sudden curve, says Dr. Thomas Muller.
Although the tire warning system is equipped on many vehicles today, many drivers still ignore periodic tire pressure checking. Maintaining the correct tire pressure not only helps the vehicle operate stably but also saves fuel.
Warning about engine wind filtration
Leaking a blocked or too dirty engine will not cause an immediate warning on the taplo, but it can reduce engine performance, causing the car to consume more fuel and reduce the life of the engine. Ensuring engine ventilation is important for providing clean air for combustion, and if not replaced on time, the engine will have difficulty operating properly, explains Dr Muller.
Drivers should replace the engine air filter according to the manufacturer's recommendation to protect the engine and maintain the vehicle's performance.
Warning about the engine cooling system
The warning of engine temperature often appears when the vehicle is too hot, but it is not always clear. However, the cooling system may be broken without any clear warning signs. If the cooling system does not work properly, the engine will quickly overheat, leading to a risk of serious damage, even engine failure, says Dr. Thomas Muller.
Drivers need to regularly check the level of cooling liquid and ensure there is no leakage in the system.
Warning about fuel quality
Although some modern vehicles have fuel quality warning systems, this situation is often not clearly displayed. Using poor quality or unsuitable fuel for the type of vehicle can affect engine performance and even damage important parts. Using the wrong fuel can clog the engine, reduce power and increase fuel consumption, Dr. Muller emphasized.
Drivers need to ensure the use of fuel in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure efficiency in operation and engine protection.
Brake part warning
The braking system may not issue a clear warning when there is a problem, especially when the brake disc is eroded or the brake pad is almost gone. These problems are sometimes only detected when the driver hears a scream or feels the difference in braking force. A brake system that doesnt work properly can lead to a serious accident, notes Dr Muller. Drivers need to check and replace the brake part when necessary.
While warnings on taplo are an important factor in helping drivers identify vehicle status, not all issues are clearly displayed. Regular vehicle maintenance and inspection, listening and feeling each movement of the vehicle will help the driver maintain safety and high performance throughout use.
