The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province has just issued a decision regulating the quantity, types and methods of managing cars serving the general work of agencies, organizations, units and localities under the management of Bac Lieu province.
According to the decision, the number and types of cars serving the general work of each provincial office (Office of the Provincial Party Committee, Office of the National Assembly Delegation and People's Council, Office of the Provincial People's Committee); departments, branches, sectors and equivalent units at the provincial level; Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, socio-political organizations at the provincial level, public service units under the Provincial People's Committee are allowed a maximum of 88 cars.
The number and types of cars used for general work of districts, towns and cities is a maximum of 42 cars (maximum of 6 cars/unit). Based on the actual situation of the locality, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities shall decide on specific norms for each agency, organization and unit under the district level according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 12 of Decree No. 72/2023/ND-CP dated September 26, 2023 of the Government regulating standards and norms for car use.
Regulations on the number and types of cars used for general work of agencies, organizations and public service units under the Provincial Party Committee (except the Provincial Party Committee Office) are decided by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
To serve the work of preventing storms, floods, natural disasters, search and rescue, controlling epidemics; preventing smuggling and trade fraud; serving the work of inspecting and supervising the implementation of economic - cultural - social fields; serving the delegations of supervision, meeting voters; serving the work of foreign affairs, receiving international guests, picking up and accompanying domestic and foreign delegations to work; directing management activities and other special tasks: The Office of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee is equipped with 1 car (in the standard, the norm is 6 cars for general work) with a maximum price of 4.5 billion VND/car; The Office of the Provincial People's Committee is equipped with 1 car (in the standard, the norm is 6 cars for general work) with a maximum price of 2.8 billion VND/car.
With this decision, the Office of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province explained that it is normal for Bac Lieu province leaders to sit in a car worth 4.5 billion VND, because this is an official car, serving general work, in accordance with regulations and not exceeding the prescribed standards.
