The BMW 8-Series Coupe was introduced globally by the German automaker in 2018, positioned in the large luxury coupe segment, directly competing with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe. In Vietnam, this model is not officially distributed, mainly appearing through private import units in very small quantities.
The first BMW 840i Coupe was brought to Vietnam in 2021. After a period of little appearance, this model has recently been seen again on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City.
The car attracts attention with the Barcelona Blue Metallic exterior paint color, which is quite rare. It comes with a set of 5-spoke double alloy wheels with a size of 20 inches. The exterior of the car has a sporty style thanks to the M Sport equipment package with more aggressive design details for the front and rear bumpers, combined with a high-performance braking system.
Compared to the flagship sedan BMW 7-Series, the design of the 8-Series Coupe has a clearer sporty style with LED headlights separated from the characteristic grille. Notably, this coupe model still uses the traditional grille style, not applying large-size design according to BMW's new trend from 2021.
The BMW 840i Coupe version in Vietnam is also equipped with a laser headlight system instead of standard LEDs. To optimize weight, the manufacturer uses carbon fiber material in some body details. However, the car appearing in Ho Chi Minh City is not equipped with the Carbon Package option - which adds carbon details to the air vents, mirror covers, front bumper and rear diffuser.
The interior of the new generation BMW 8-Series Coupe is equipped with many modern technologies such as a 10.3-inch digital instrument panel behind the steering wheel, a 12.3-inch central entertainment screen, wireless charging and Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system.
In terms of operation, the BMW 840i Coupe uses a 3.0L, 6-cylinder in-line turbocharged engine, producing a maximum power of 335 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The engine combines an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, bringing sporty performance to the luxury coupe line.
