Hanoi City Police has just announced the assignment of vehicle registration tasks to organizations and individuals with headquarters and residence in the city from July 1, 2025.
Accordingly, the Traffic Police Department is assigned the task of registering vehicles, including:
Automobiles, trailers, semi-trailers, four-wheeled motorized passenger vehicles, four-wheeled motorized cargo vehicles, vehicles with a structure similar to automobiles (hereinafter referred to as automobiles), motorbikes, motorbikes and vehicles with a structure similar to motorbikes and specialized motorbikes of organizations and individuals headquartered and residing in the area.
Commune-level police are assigned the task of registering cars, specialized motorbikes, and motorbikes of domestic organizations and individuals with headquarters and residence in the city; except for vehicles of confiscated origin.
According to the announcement, organizations and individuals who need to register their cars, motorbikes, and specialized motorbikes can choose to register their vehicles at the Traffic Police Department or any commune-level police station in the city where they reside or have headquarters.
For communes with part of the administrative boundary separated and merged with many new commune-level administrative units, during the time waiting for the completion of population data, the vehicle registration work for organizations and individuals in the commune will be carried out by the Traffic Police Department.
For vehicles of confiscated origin, registration must be made at the Traffic Police Department.
