In Vietnam, the appearance of the Maserati GranCabrio Sport model is quite rare when Maserati's high-performance 4-seater convertible car line is not produced in large quantities.
GranCabrio is a convertible version developed from GranTurismo S Automatic, using a soft fabric folding roof and still maintaining a 4-seater configuration - a rare feature in the convertible sports car segment. This model was first launched at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and started production in 2010 at the Viale Ciro Menotti factory (Italy).
According to the manufacturer, GranCabrio uses a 4.7-liter V8 engine, producing about 440 horsepower and 490 Nm of torque. The total number of GranCabrio convertibles produced globally reached more than 11,700 units.
The GranCabrio Sport version in the article was first introduced at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, aiming for more sporty performance. The car still uses a 4.7-liter V8 engine but is tuned to increase power to about 444 horsepower, torque reaching 510 Nm, combined with a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission.
In subsequent upgrades, the model has been supplemented with some sporty identification details such as dark-colored headlight trim, black-painted grille, larger side skirts and aerodynamic details on the front bumper. These changes help reduce the air resistance ratio from 0.35 to 0.33.
The Maserati GranCabrio Sport appearing in Vietnam has a blue exterior, soft roof in the same body color, accompanied by a pair of 5-spoke double silver-painted rims - a characteristic configuration commonly seen on operating versions of this car line.
