According to the manufacturer, the new model is produced in a limited edition of 873 units worldwide to honor the motorcycle line that once made its mark in the brand's racing history.
The original 750 Super Sport Desmo was developed from the Ducati 750 Imola Desmo model - the car that helped two racers Paul Smart and Bruno Spaggiari win the 200 Miglia di Imola race in 1972. This is considered one of the important milestones that laid the foundation for the birth of the Formula 750 format in the 1980s, the predecessor of the modern World Superbike Championship.
Formula Sport 73 is developed based on the Scrambler Café Racer platform, highlighted by the café racer-style front fairing. The car uses silver - jade green tones combined with a classic logo, reminiscent of the previous "blue frame" racing version. The yellow line running along the fuel tank recreates unpainted details on the 750 Imola Desmo, which is used to check fuel levels during competition.
The model is equipped with LED lights, a 4.3-inch color TFT screen and a series of racing-style details provided by Rizoma such as brake levers, footrests and fuel tank caps.
In terms of operation, Formula Sport 73 uses a V-twin Desmodue air-cooled engine, with a displacement of 803 cc, producing 73 horsepower at 8.250 rpm. The car integrates driving assist technologies including traction control, ABS braking when cornering, quick shift system and two driving modes.
Ducati has not yet announced the selling price of Formula Sport 73. The model is expected to be distributed to the market from the first quarter of 2026.
