The Ferrari 488 Spider is a two-seater electric folding hardtop version developed based on the Ferrari 488 GTB platform. The car uses a metal roof mechanism that can be closed or opened in about 14 seconds. When lowering the roof, the roof is folded neatly behind the seat compartment to ensure aesthetics and aerodynamics.
This model was first announced by Ferrari in July 2015 and officially launched to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of the same year, replacing the Ferrari 458 Spider in the company's product portfolio.
In terms of performance, the Ferrari 488 Spider is equipped with a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, producing a maximum power of 670 horsepower. Compared to the coupe version, the convertible version is only about 50 kg heavier, and about 10 kg lighter than the predecessor 458 Spider model.
According to the manufacturer's announced specifications, the car has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3 seconds, accelerate from 0 to 200 km/h in 8.7 seconds and reach a top speed of about 325 km/h. Thanks to improvements in technology and operating performance, the Ferrari 488 Spider was once voted by IEEE Spectrum into the list of typical technology cars in 2016.
The appearance of the Ferrari 488 Spider with the original paint color on the streets of Hanoi continues to show the appeal of this high-performance convertible supercar line in the car-playing community in Vietnam.
