Honda is preparing to enter one of the biggest brand identity changes in history, when the familiar "H" logo will have a completely new look on all future car models, not just electric cars.
According to the latest announcement from Honda, the redesigned "H" symbol will begin to appear on mass-produced car models from 2027.
Previously, this logo was launched on concept models of the Zero Series line, a series of strategic electric vehicles that the company is developing for the transition to the era of electrification.
Unlike the current logo which is the letter "H" located in the rounded square frame, the new version completely removes the outer border.
The letter "H" is stylized to be more minimalist, with a shape reminiscent of two extended hands.
According to Honda, this design is welcoming, demonstrating the company's commitment to connecting people with technology and towards a sustainable future.
Notably, this is Honda's first major logo design change since 1981.
Previously, the original logo of the company was introduced in 1963 and almost maintained the design spirit for decades.
The renewal of the brand logo is considered a strategic step, reflecting Honda's repositioning process in the context of the automobile industry strongly shifting to electric vehicles, hybrids and smart mobility solutions.
Honda's European media team has confirmed that the new "H" symbol will be applied throughout the company's car portfolio, including electric cars, hybrids and other flagship models, starting from 2027.
Not stopping at cars, Honda said that the new logo will also gradually appear in many other business segments, from dealer systems, brand promotion events to sports car races that the company participates in.
This shows that Honda is aiming for a more unified, modern and recognizable image globally.
