According to data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), a total of 303 size D sedans were delivered to customers in April, an increase of 101 vehicles compared to March. Toyota Camry continues to lead the segment with 264 units sold, up nearly 64% compared to the previous month. With this result, Camry accounts for 87% of the market share and is far ahead of the remaining competitors.
Notably, the hybrid version of Camry is surpassing the gasoline version with sales of 148 and 116 vehicles respectively - reflecting the trend of shifting to fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles of consumers.
Kia K5 ranked second with 32 units sold, up slightly compared to March and holding 11% market share. Meanwhile, Mazda 6 and Honda Accord continued to fall deep in the rankings with sales of only 4 and 3 cars respectively - both of which were on the list of the slowest-selling models of the month.
The reason for the decline in sales of Mazda 6 and Honda Accord comes not only from the trend of consumers favoring high-chassis cars, but also from the lack of innovation (with Mazda 6) and uncompetitive high prices (with Honda Accord). Despite the strong incentives, Honda's sedan model still has difficulty reaching customers.
Accumulated in the first 4 months of 2025, Toyota Camry achieved a total sales of 701 vehicles, continuing to affirm its No. 1 position in the D-size sedan segment in Vietnam.
