Toyota Philippines announced a recall of the small Raize SUV due to an error in the engine control unit (ECU). In this recall, a total of 28828 vehicles are subject to recall. According to Toyota, the wrongEC programming can make pressing the brake pedals more difficult in certain driving conditions, causing the pressure in the brake assist to not be maintained as designed. This can take more time when the driver wants to stop the car.
Therefore, Toyota Philippines has announced the recall of domestically produced Raize models from December 1, 2021 to July 15, 2024. Owners of these Raize models will be contacted and instructed to bring the vehicle to the dealer to re- lap trinhEC at no cost.
Raize has been the best-selling model of the Japanese company in the Philippine market since its launch in early 2022. In 2024, a total of 18,024 Raize cars were delivered to customers (an increase from 17,504 cars in 2024). This figure helps Raize rank 6th in the entire Philippine auto market in 2024.
In the Vietnamese market, the Raize model was launched at the end of 2021 through import from Indonesia. According to the company, in Vietnam Raize will sell nearly 5,000 vehicles in 2024, an increase of about 10% compared to 2023 and rank 8th in the sales table of small size CUV models (A+ to C-).
