The pure electric bZ7 is expected to be launched as a commercial product in 2025. It will compete with rivals such as: SU7, Xiaomi, BYD Han and Luxeed S7.
It is not yet clear whether the new bZ7 model is exclusive to the Chinese market or will be available in other markets around the world. To date, Toyota has only one pure electric model, the bZ4X, in the foreign market, but in China, the bZ series is being rapidly developed by the company, starting with the bZ3 sedan.
The appearance of the bZ7 is similar to the Comfortable Space Concept model that debuted at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show. The bZ7 model has a sleek coupe shape with a closed grille design and a continuous light strip. This style is also repeated at the rear of the car with a continuous light system.
According to the previous plan, GAC Toyota planned to launch a mid-size/large-size pure electric sedan this year called Comfortable Space. Therefore, many people believe that the bZ7 model is a product of this plan.
Currently, the GAC Toyota joint venture sells the bZ3X and bZ4X models, while the FAW Toyota joint venture has models such as the bZ3 and bZ4X. According to information from the company, the bZ7 model is expected to go on sale in the summer of 2025.
Starting with the bZ3 sedan, Toyota's pure electric products in China have relied heavily on BYD technology for their powertrains, including BYD's blade batteries and electric motors. This also applies to the bZ3C and is likely to be the case for the bZ7 as well.
