After a year of launching the new generation, Toyota introduced the first Alphard 2025 model for the domestic market. This new version of the MPV model has added the option of a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain and a 4-seat Spacious Lounge version inspired by the Lexus LM model.
The new PHEV setup on the 2025 Alphard includes a 2.5 petrol engine with an E-Four system to produce a total output of 302 horsepower. The lithium-ion battery is equipped with an operating range of 73km in EV mode. This battery supports fast charging to 80% in just 38 minutes. The battery is placed under the floor, helping to lower the vehicle's center of gravity by 35mm compared to the HEV system. However, the battery capacity has not been disclosed by the company yet.
According to the company, the PHEV powertrain provides a comfortable driving experience when running in EV (pure electric) mode. Toyota also added soundproofing materials. EV mode allows the car to operate without starting the internal combustion engine. Like other Toyota PHEV models, the Alphard PHEV is also equipped with the My Room Mode feature - allowing the use of A/C and in-car entertainment when not charging, along with an external power supply function.
The Japanese automaker added the Spacious Lounge option to the 2025 Alphard. This premium version is based on the Executive Lounge model and is configured with 4 seats with 2 business class seats in the back, similar to the Lexus LM model.
However, the Alphard model does not have a partition or a 48-inch screen like the LM 500h Executive, but is equipped with a pair of curtains between the two rows of seats. The rear seats are electrically adjustable and can recline with retractable footrests. The air-conditioning vents on both sides of the rear seats have a refrigerator, phone charger and a variety of perfume options.
According to plan, Toyota Alphard 2025 will be sold in the Japanese market from early 2025 with a price of 32,600-68,000 USD (about 829 million VND to 1 billion 730 million VND).
