Toyota Vietnam recalls nearly 1,500 Yaris Cross HEV vehicles

Thanh Vũ |

Toyota Vietnam (TMV) officially implemented a recall program for 1,489 Yaris Cross HEV vehicles due to errors related to the glue layer covering the panoramic roof glass.

The recalled vehicles were manufactured between June 5, 2023 and November 18, 2024.

According to information from the manufacturer, on some influential vehicles, the glue layer used to attach the whole roof glass may have been applied improperly in the production process. This error can reduce the adhesion between the glass and the ceiling bracket structure. In operating conditions, if not overcome, the risk of roof glass is separated from the vehicle may occur, thereby causing unsafe for road users.

The recall program will be conducted at all Toyota dealers and authorized service stations nationwide starting from May 30, 2025. Toyota Vietnam said that the inspection and repair will be done completely free of charge, with an estimated time of 1.7 to 3.7 hours for each vehicle depending on the condition.

For imported Yaris Cross HEV cars that are not genuine but are affected by the announcement from Toyota Capital Group (TMC), Toyota Vietnam will support car owners to contact TMC for verification. After receiving confirmation from the group, the vehicle will be inspected and repaired for free at authorized dealers.

Toyota Vietnam recommends that customers bring their vehicles for inspection as soon as possible to ensure safety for themselves and passengers. At the same time, customers are encouraged to book appointments in advance to minimize waiting time at service facilities.
