On June 6, Tuy An Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police) said that the unit had invited Mr. N.V.D (resident in Gia Lai province) to work and made a record of administrative violation for the act of driving a car across a level crossing barrier when the barrier was moving.
Previously, through verification, functional forces determined that at 3:24 PM on May 30, Mr. N.V.D was driving a truck through an automatic level crossing at Km1184+200 on the North-South railway line.
Although the warning system was activated and the barrier was lowering, the driver still drove the vehicle through the intersection with the railway.
According to functional agencies, this is a particularly dangerous act, potentially posing a risk of serious railway traffic accidents, directly threatening the lives of vehicle operators, passengers on trains as well as other traffic participants.
Based on Clause 9, Article 13 of Decree No. 81/2026/ND-CP of the Government, the act of driving a car over a level crossing barrier when the barrier is moving will be fined from 18 - 20 million VND, and at the same time have their driving licenses revoked for 1 - 3 months.
