A driver who ran a red light twice but was still praised by the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police, behind it is a story of compassion.

At about 16:30 on June 9, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh (46 years old, residing in P.10, Da Lat City) was driving a car from Ta Nung Commune to Da Lat City. Mr. Thanh saw a young man driving a motorbike falling off the motorbike and causing serious injuries, his right eye was wide.

Mr. Thanh decided to get the victim onto the car and take him to the hospital. On the about 10 km journey from the middle of Ta Nung Pass to Lam Dong General Hospital, Mr. Thanh turned on the priority lights, continuously honking for the road.

On the way, in order to get the victim to the hospital as quickly as possible, Mr. Thanh ran the red light twice. After the incident, Mr. Thanh wrote a letter asking Lam Dong General Hospital to confirm the incident.

The Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police has determined the reason for driving the car at a red light by Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tiep - Head of the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police - said that the unit decided not to draw up a record of administrative fine against Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, and at the same time praised the humanitarian spirit and civic responsibility of the driver in emergency situations to save people in distress.

Many people are afraid of running red lights, so even when encountering urgent situations, they do not dare to run. For example, there was an ambulance behind, but due to a red light, the car in front did not overtake to give way when possible.

Not to mention, there are emergency cases of rescuing people, supporting the elderly and children to cross the road or encountering unusual incidents on the road.

In case Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh shows that if there is an urgent reason for running a red light, the driver can present it to the traffic police, verify the clear evidence, then he will not be administratively punished.

The traffic police's commendation of Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh also had a positive impact on the community, promoting citizen responsibility, and promoting the fine tradition of "love others as you love yourself".

On the way, they met the accident victim, gave him help and took him to the emergency room in time. Saving a life is something everyone should do, if possible. In case of traffic violations, the traffic police will verify and not punish the machinery.

While society still has many indifferent people who have encountered victims of traffic accidents, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh's actions are remarkable.

That is also a reminder for each of us about compassion.
