3-year-old boy in Dong Nai dies of suspected measles complications

On November 30, the Dong Nai Province Department of Health recorded a case of a 3-year-old boy (residing in Bac Son Commune, Trang Bom District) who died of suspected measles complications.

According to initial investigation, on November 23, baby T.M.T.N (3 years old) had a fever, no chest pain, no stomach pain, little cough, went to Dong Nai Children's Hospital for examination and was diagnosed with measles, the doctor gave him medicine to monitor.

The patient will be re-examined on November 25 and November 28.

On the morning of November 29, the baby coughed a lot, wheezed, had difficulty breathing, and was lethargic, so his family took him to the hospital. On the way, the baby had difficulty breathing, was out of breath, and then fell into a coma.

At Thong Nhat General Hospital, doctors urgently performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the patient and actively treated him, but he later died.

Doctors diagnosed the child's death as being caused by complications from measles leading to myocarditis and encephalitis.

Previously, on November 18, the leader of Dong Nai Children's Hospital also said that in the area, a boy named H.T.H. (8 years old, living in Bien Hoa City) died of measles.
