Information from the National Children's Hospital said that the boy who had an accident in the incident of "paying enough money for emergency care" in Nam Dinh was alert and in stable health. Notably, 100% of children's treatment costs are covered by the Health Insurance Fund.
Accordingly, T.A (a pediatrician in the case of "paying enough money for emergency care" in Nam Dinh) was transferred to the department for further monitoring. If the child's condition continues to progress well, he is expected to be discharged from the hospital in the next 3-5 days.
Currently, the total cost of treatment for patient M.T.A is 22,808,545 VND. All of these expenses will be paid by the Health Insurance Fund (according to regulations, the patient is a child under 6 years old, has a valid referral letter, the Health Insurance Fund pays 100% of the treatment costs in the Health Insurance list).
On May 3, while playing near his house, M.T.A was unfortunately run over by a homemade three-wheeled vehicle. Immediately after the accident, the child was taken to Nam Dinh General Hospital for emergency treatment, then transferred to the National Children's Hospital for further treatment.
Previously, the person who took the child to the hospital reported that "The lower-level hospital requires full payment to receive emergency care". The incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
At the National Hospital of Pediatrics, through the examination and testing, diagnostic imaging, doctors determined that the child was touched on both sides of the lung parenchyma, the right pleura fluid, the left diaphragm injury, causing the gastric and intestinal hernia to the chest, the left 3 -level kidney trauma, the small intestine and the hematoma of the peritoneal cavity.
The child was quickly resuscitated for vital functions and had surgery to reconstruct the diaphragm, preserve the left kidney, remove the collapsed intestines, and connect the intestines on the night of May 3.
Currently, after 5 days of treatment, M.T.A's health has improved well. The child breathed on his own, was completely alert, communicated well, his intestines were circulating, he could consume milk, and his mother was normal, and his left kidney function was normal, so no further intervention was needed.
On May 4, the Nam Dinh Provincial Department of Health said it had received a quick report from the Provincial General Hospital reflecting that "must pay the full hospital fee to provide emergency care" for M.T.A (4 years old) who was in a traffic accident.
According to the report, at 4:03 p.m. on May 3, the child was admitted to the hospital in a conscious state with scratches. Even though they have not paid or registered for examination, doctors still examine, prescribe paraclinical drugs and provide emergency care. At 5:45 p.m., the child was transferred to the National Children's Hospital.
The hospital affirmed that no one said " pay enough money for emergency care". The person who temporarily provided the children's care paid 500,000 VND, without being asked for more. Administrative exchanges may cause misunderstandings.
The Department of Health requires the hospital to rectify the on-duty, review the emergency procedure and handle any violations.
However, Mr. H.T.T - the person who took the child to the emergency room - confirmed that the reflection was correct. He said he was required to pay the full amount to be examined even though he only brought 500,000 VND.
