The Van Ban Regional General Hospital project (Lao Cai) has a total investment of 260 billion VND from central budget support and local budget sources.
The project is built to meet the needs of medical examination and treatment for more than 90,000 people in the old Van Ban district and surrounding areas.
According to the design, the project includes a 5-story main building with a construction area of 5,460m2; a 583m2 anti-infection building; a 553m2 nutritional house; a 650m2 infectious disease department; a 3 in 1 facility with an area of 245m2; a 180m2 apartment building, along with auxiliary items, exteriors and fire prevention and fighting systems.
The project started in early 2022, with a construction time of 5 years. The consortium Quang Sang Construction Investment Co., Ltd., Duc Tuan Construction Investment Co., Ltd. and Van Nhan Company are the construction units.
The hospital is identified as a key health project of the old Van Ban district, aiming to meet the standards of a grade II General Hospital, meeting the requirements of disease prevention and control and in accordance with the health sector development plan of Lao Cai province.
Reporters' records at the construction site in mid-January 2026 show that the construction atmosphere is still taking place urgently.
Outside, workers are building a retaining wall system, completing exterior items; inside the building blocks, cleaning and installing fire prevention and fighting systems and technical equipment are being deployed simultaneously.
Information from the Van Ban area Construction Investment Project Management Board said that contractors are focusing on installing electricity and air conditioning systems. Package No. 10 - the largest value package, including the main construction items - has now completed more than 99% of the volume.
The investor is actively urging construction units to increase manpower, materials and equipment to speed up the progress of the remaining items such as security guard houses, main gates, asphalt paving in the main gate and auxiliary gate areas, and at the same time energize and test-run technical systems inside and outside the project.
In addition, the contractor has also concentrated equipment at the construction site, ready to construct and install fire prevention and fighting systems, air conditioning systems, wastewater treatment, incinerators and waste treatment, gas suppliers and other specialized technical items.
On January 16, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Dao Hoang Anh - representative of the supervision consulting unit said that the Van Ban Regional General Hospital project has now been basically completed.
According to Mr. Hoang Anh, the project only has some items related to fire prevention and fighting; after completion, acceptance, handover and commissioning will be carried out.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quan, technical officer of Quang Sang Construction Investment Co., Ltd., said that the construction unit has completed almost the entire package.
Currently, the contractor is focusing on constructing the remaining small items and exteriors, striving to hand over the project to the investor before the Lunar New Year.
